Trustee

Nicky Newman

Nicky brings a wealth of life and professional experience to her role as a trustee. Born and raised in Coventry, she began her career with 13 years in the WRNS Operations Branch, including six months serving in the Falkland Islands.

She later spent 21 years in the NHS as a Mental Health Nurse within a regional forensic secure unit, developing strong skills in communication, active listening, and compassionate, non-judgemental care.

Since taking early retirement in 2020, Nicky has continued her commitment to supporting others, becoming a volunteer befriender in 2025. She holds a firm belief that no one should feel alone or isolated, and is passionate about the importance of friendship, kindness, and companionship alongside formal care.

Having lived in Lee-on-the-Solent for over 30 years, Nicky is a valued member of the local community, supported by a close network of family and friends - and her much-loved cockapoo, Summer.
