Volunteer with Gosport Community Support
Whether you have an hour a week, a few hours a month or can just lend a hand occasionally, there are lots of ways to get involved. Some of our volunteers work directly with local people, while others help behind the scenes or support us at events.
You don’t need to have previous volunteering experience. We’ll provide the guidance and support you need, and help you find a role that suits your skills, interests and availability.
Volunteer Opportunities
Advocacy
Help older and vulnerable people understand their options, access services and make sure their voice is heard. Training and ongoing support are provided.
Befriending
Spend time with an older or vulnerable person who may be lonely or isolated. Whether visiting in person or chatting by phone, regular friendly contact can make a huge difference.
Volunteer Driver
Use your own car and a little of your spare time to help local people get to medical appointments, shopping, social activities and other essential journeys.
Administrative Support
Help our small team with telephone calls, database updates, paperwork and other practical tasks that keep Gosport Community Support running smoothly.
Fundraising & Events
Help at events, stalls and fundraising activities, come up with new ideas or lend a hand behind the scenes. Perfect if you want a more flexible or occasional way to volunteer.
Community Cars Coordinator
Help behind the scenes to keep our Community Cars service moving by taking journey requests, matching passengers with volunteer drivers and keeping everyone informed.
When you volunteer with GCS, you can expect:

References and DBS checks are carried out where appropriate to the volunteer role.
